Environmental and Quality Auditing

Environmental or environment auditing is an activity independently undertaken and used to examine and organisation's conformance with agreed processes or procedures. The international standards such as ISO 9001:2000 or ISO 14001:2004 are examples of processes which can be implemented voluntarily by an organisation to enhance business performance and manage risks. Processes can also take the form of legal obligations such as a Waste Licence or an Integrated Pollution Prevention Licence (IPPC).

Audits used effectively are powerful tools for any business to measure the effectiveness of the conformance with their agreed processes and legal obligations and for enhancing performance.
